Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani also has raised the issue of domestic flight operations. Operation of domestic flights also required for transportation of parliamentarians to Islamabad, he said.

Opening of selected Pakistani airports for limited domestic passenger flight operations expected on May 16. Flights to be operated under strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) against the spread of COVID-19. Passengers will have to wear mask at the airport and aboard the aircraft and will undergo scanning process against COVID-19 before flight departure and after arrival.
Most likely limited domestic passenger flight operations to be allowed at airports of Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
Provinces of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have agreed to open airports for limited domestic flight operations. Sindh Province opposed opening of airports for limited passenger flights.
Flights to be operated with maximum of fifty percent passenger load in order to maintain social distancing between passengers.
Social distancing between passengers will also have to be maintained at airports.

PIA Airbus A320 flight PK8363 to Quetta expected to depart from Islamabad at 3:00 PM. Probably special flight from Islamabad to Karachi via Quetta to transport parliamentarians who attended National Assembly and Senate sessions in Islamabad from May 11 to 14.
Flight PK8363 from Islamabad via Quetta expected to arrive in Karachi at 6:30 PM.
The parliamentarians were flown to Islamabad by PIA Airbus A320 special flight PK8352 from Karachi via Quetta on May 11.

Today, PIA Airbus A320 (aircraft registration AP-BMX) arrived in Quetta at 4:15 PM as flight PK8363 from Islamabad from where it had departed at 3:06 PM.
The A320 is performing flight PK8363 from Islamabad to Karachi via Quetta to transport parliamentarians who attended National Assembly and Senate sessions in Islamabad from May 11 to 15.

Limited Domestic Flight Operations Allowed
In view of the difficulties being faced by passengers in travelling between major cities in Pakistan, the Federal Government has been pleased to allow limited domestic flight operations from five major airports namely Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta with effect from 16th May, 2020. Initially PIA and Serene Air will operate domestic flights.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for domestic passengers and chartered flight operations require disinfection of aircraft prior to boarding, at least one vacant seat between passengers, compulsory wearing of masks and use of hand sanitizer. No food and beverages will be allowed during domestic flight. Airlines are required to maintain emergency Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in every aircraft to deal with any health emergency during flight. Every passengers will be required to fill a health declaration form prior to boarding the aircraft, which include identification of passenger, brief travel history during past two weeks, current health state and an undertaking to comply with SOP.
At airports, passengers will be subjected to thermal scanning both on entry airports for departure and upon arrival at the destination city. Anyone with raised body temperature or visible symptoms of COVID-19 shall be examined by a health professional and required action, if any, shall be taken as per advice of the health professional. No meet and greet at the airport shall be allowed. Drivers shall stay inside the vehicle in the parking lot. No protocol would be allowed beyond the briefing area Social distancing shall be maintained at every stage of departure and arrival formalities. The luggage shall be disinfected prior to loading on to the aircraft and after arrival at the destination airport.
The decision to resume domestic flight operations has been taken in consultation with federating units.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued the requisite Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) valid up to June 30, 2020.
