PIA shouldn't even try to look at it.

However, PIA should try to get like 6 A220-100 to replace ATR fleet, and to use some of these on domestic route where A320 is big enough.
Fortune favours brave.

I remember there was another crash involving Sukhoi Super jet 100 was Aeroflot flight 1492. Where there was a problem with the radio equipment's and 41 souls lost their life in that crash. There were viral videos of the plane bouncing on the runway twice before engulfing into a fireball.

I think PIA should Induct these for the national routes instead of using the Ageing fleet of the ATR's.

Moreover it would help regain confidence to the severed ties with Russia for ever changing Political landscape.

Superjet has engine issues which their European manufacturer is reluctant to resolve. Thats the reason airlines outside have removed them from their fleet. Even the Mexican airline, their only international customer is likely to withdraw them from service.

Has this got something to do with the 93 million USD that Pakistan owes to Russia, not really a debt but something that fell through the cracks with passage of time as a result of breakage of USSR.

Pakistan settles Soviet-era trade dispute with Russia
https://tribune.com.pk/story/2095099/2- ... te-russia/

According to the commerce division, in the 1980s the then USSR and its companies used to buy textile and other material from Pakistani companies. To ensure the smooth functioning of the barter trade, former USSR opened two bank accounts in the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).

The funds in these accounts were deposited by the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) through the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Upon the disintegration of the Soviet Union, some exporters remained unpaid. In addition, there were also claims by Pakistani companies for unshipped goods as they had paid sea freight charges.

As the dispute prolonged, some Pakistani companies acquired stay orders from the Sindh High Court (SHC) restraining the NBP from transferring funds of the Russian banks held in its accounts since 1996, which amount to $104.93 million.
