According to news sources, operation of PIA flights for Baku (Azerbaijan) is being considered.

In the past, PIA operated flight from Karachi to Baku via Ashgabat with Tupolev Tu-154.

Abbas bhai, did Turkish ever operate Istanbul - Baku - Islamabad? I remember reading about it but don’t know if it ever materialised. My assumption would be that PK would operate from ISB too.

Also glad to see PIA deploying its aircraft elsewhere while the European ban is present. Would be nice to see them be a bit more aggressive domestically in the trunk routes as well.

^ Yes, Turkish Airlines did operate flights between Istanbul and Islamabad via Baku with Airbus A330. Flights via Baku were started in October 2015.

There has been a lot written about Azeri/Pakistan relations in the last few years (diplomatic, trade, tourism). These flights could do quite well.

Its great to see PIA starting routes like this, it should really work in establishing more central asia connections. Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghan, Tajik etc etc

Aoa is PIA planning to resume flights for Baku? While searching for flights to Baku on skyscanner it shows direct flights available for July to be booked screenshot below

Can anyone confirm if this is correct and from when are they being resumed since need to book a couple of tickets for family travel. Have checked with PIA helpline but they have no confirmation on this.
