Islamabad International Airport included in Saudi Arabia's "Makkah Road" Initiative

* Pakistan Urges Saudi Arabia to Also Include Airports of Karachi and Lahore in the initiative


Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-Ul-Haq Qadri met Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Muhammad Saleh bin Taher Benten in Jeddah to discuss and review Hajj arrangement for pilgrims from Pakistan.

Pakistan thanked Saudi Arabia for including Islamabad International Airport in "Makkah Road" initiative under which Hajj pilgrims will undergo Saudi immigration and customs clearance process at the Pakistani airport in Islamabad.

Pakistan has urged Saudi Arabia to also include airports of Karachi and Lahore in "Makkah Road" initiative for the convenience of pilgrims. Saudis will review airports of Karachi and Lahore for their inclusion in the initiative.

PIA Hajj flights operation through 350 flights will transport 78,000 pilgrims this year. 215 regular flights and 135 special flights will transport intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

Pre-Hajj flights will be operated from July 4 to August 5.

Post-Hajj flights will be operated from August 17 to September 14.

PIA all set to commence Hajj operations from July 4

ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will commence this year’s Hajj operations by taking first batch of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia from July 4.

The national flag carrier on Friday announced its flight schedule for this year’s Hajj during which it hopes to fly as many as 78,000 pilgrims to the Arab kingdom and back through 350 special flights. The pre-Hajj operations will last till August 5 while the post-Hajj will commence on August 17 and continue till September 14, according to the details obtained by The Express Tribune.

Over 50,000 pilgrims under the government’s Hajj scheme while 27,000 private pilgrims will be taken through 135 special and 215 scheduled flights to Jeddah and Medina.

Pilgrims, travelling under the government’s scheme, are being charged Rs110,000 from Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa while Rs100,000 from Karachi and Quetta. Two Boeing 777 and as many Airbus A320 aircraft will be used for the whole operation.

The plan has been sent to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which has already begun the process of collecting airfare from the pilgrims.

The national airline is facilitating over 25,000 pilgrims more than last year after Saudi Arabia increased the Hajj quota for Pakistan from 184,210 to 200,000 in February this year.

Pre-Hajj flights operation at Peshawar Airport will start on July 4 and end on August 5. More than 45,000 intending pilgrims will fly from Peshawar to Saudi Arabia.

PIA has finalized its Hajj - 2019 flights operation.

Pre-Hajj flights will be operated from July 4 to August 5.

Post-Hajj flights will be operated from August 17 to September 14.

Hajj flights will be operated between Pakistani cities and Saudi cities of Jeddah and Medina.

318 PIA flights (including 221 scheduled and 97 Hajj flights) will transport around 75,000 intending pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia.

PIA will transport:

15,125 intending pilgrims from Karachi
14,922 intending pilgrims from Lahore
14,040 intending pilgrims from Islamabad
8,794 intending pilgrims from Quetta
8,750 intending pilgrims from Peshawar
5,030 intending pilgrims from Multan
4,300 intending pilgrims from Sialkot
1,700 intending pilgrims from Faisalabad
1,700 intending pilgrims from Rahim Yar Khan (via Karachi)
639 intending pilgrims from Sukkur (via Karachi)

First pre-Hajj flight carrying more than 300 intending pilgrims will depart from Islamabad.

Hajj flight schedule likely next week

June 20, 2019

ISLAMABAD, Jun 20 (APP):
Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony would issue Government Scheme’s Hajj flight schedule next week, an official has said Thursday.

Talking to APP, he said the details of Hajj flights would be available on ministry’s website immediately after the announcement, besides informing about their flight schedule, buildings, Maktab number and other relevant details through SMS and letters.

Month long Hajj flight to begin from July 4

ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (APP)
: The month long pre Hajj flight operation will commence from July 4 as the ministry has already issued flight schedule of Government Hajj Scheme last day.

An official of the ministry said that the details of flight schedule have already been uploaded on ministry’s website. The pilgrims were also being informed about relevant details through SMS and intimation letters.

Government pilgrims would go to Saudi Arabia through three airlines including PIA, Saudi Airline and Air Blue. The intending pilgrims should report to their respective Madinatul Hujjaj two days prior to their flights for getting tickets and seal packed medicine.

Each Haji is allowed to bring 30 kilogram luggage with him or her. He urged intending pilgrims to benefit from ministry’s ongoing extensive training programmes as such were the most important for performing Hajj in accordance with the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

He also urged intending pilgrims to benefit from Hajj training material available at ministry’s website and ministry’s social media links.

According to news sources:

Hajj flights will not be operated from Hajj Terminal of Lahore Airport. Hajj flights will be operated from International Flights terminal building area of Lahore Airport.
