A grounded dry leased Airbus A320 will also take longer time for returning to service, according to statement of a PIA spokesperson in today's newspaper.

On January 22, Minister for Aviation Division Muhammad Mian Soomro informed the senate that the two grounded PIA ATRs are undergoing engine replacement and other maintenance/repairs work.

Don't know what CEO wanted to day. Flying or grounded, lease payments have to be made, regardless.

The national flag carrier is also losing millions every month under the head of rent of two grounded ATR airplanes which are on dry lease.

It also has AP-BKZ, which is grounded due to some ordinary non-functioning parts while AP-BKW is also waiting for the start of flights after it gets a new engine.

“The PIA administration knocks down one plane to run other on an ad hoc basis,” said an industry source.

Why are the ATR72s still grounded?

I think the one that had a crash with the Shaheen 737 is gone for good.
