Citizens to be involved in tree plantation drive at Islamabad International Airport

RAWALPINDI: The Aviation Division has decided to involve residents of the twin cities in the `Own a Tree at Islamabad International Airport for Times to Come` initiative and invited them to plant a tree free of cost.
Each tree would carry the name of the individual and would symbolize his or her contribution towards the national cause.
In pursuance of Prime Minister Imran Khan`s initiative `Clean and Green Pakistan` the Aviation Division has embarked on the campaign to plant trees at Islamabad International Airport.
Secretary Aviation Division Shahrukh Nusrat highlighted the significance of the campaign and termed it a positive contribution to the national Clean Green Pakistan initiative with all of its components vis-a -vis tree plantation, solid waste management, liquid waste management, clean drinking water and sanitation.
Mr Nusrat said a similar campaign was undetaken at Karachi`s Jinnah International Airport in February this year, adding that such campaigns were being replicated at all airports under the Aviation Division.
He invited interested individuals to visit the airport and become part of the campaign.
Meanwhile, delegations representing the aeronautical authorities of Pakistan and Qatar met in Islamabad.
A press release issued by the Civil Aviation Authority said the Pakistani delegation wasled by Senior Joint Secretary Aviation Division Abdul Sattar Khokhar and the Qatari delegation was led by Director, Air Transport Department of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Mohamed Faleh Al Hajri.
During the round of negotiations, air service matters between the two countries were discussed at length and new avenues for mutual benefit in the field of international civil aviation were explored.
The CAA spokesman said Pakistan and Qatar agreed to continue consultations to work closely on promoting the aviation industries of both countries.

On the directives of Shahrukh Nusrat, secretary aviation/DGCAA, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority on Thursday started the second phase of its tree plantation drive by planting different fruit saplings at Jinnah International Airport.
On this occasion CAA arranged a simple ceremony for plantation of fruit trees at the area adjacent to Jinnah International Airport (JIAP). CAA has earmarked a tract of its land opposite to PSO Petrol Pump at JIAP.
Deputy DG (APS) Syed Aamir Mehboob was the chief guest of the ceremony while Incharge Clean and Green Program of CAA Nadir Shafi Daar along with other CAA Directors also graced the occasion. Officers and staff of CAA and representatives of different airlines actively participated in the plantation activity.
A large number of students from different schools and their teachers planted fruit saplings and showed their commitment for the noble cause of clean and green Pakistan.
It may be recalled that Shahrukh Nusrat, Secretary Aviation/DGCAA had inaugurated the tree plantation campaign of CAA in the beginning of this year under the Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign as envisioned by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The plantation drive of CAA has been going on since February 2019 at all airports. Secretary Aviation/DGCAA is taking keen interest to make the campaign a success for positive climate change effects in future.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Airport Manager Mubarak Shah for Multan International Airport planting a tree in Cargo Complex area of the airport under 'Clean & Green Pakistan' campaign launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
250 trees will be planted in Multan International Airport Cargo Complex area.

According to news sources, under Clean Green Pakistan campaign, tree plantation drive will be started at the airports of Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad and Gwadar.

CAA to plant 0.3m saplings at airports across country

KARACHI: Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday announced to plant some 0.3 million saplings at airports across the country during the ongoing monsoon tree plantation campaign.
Inaugurating the monsoon tree plantation drive here at the Jinnah International Airport, Aviation Secretary Hassan Nasir Jamy said the CAA would plant over 100,000 saplings at the Karachi airport among 300,000 saplings across the country during the current plantation drive.
The CAA director general, Airport Security Force (ASF) deputy director general and Airport Services deputy director general were also present on the occasion.
According to the Islamabad International Airport manager, over 12,000 saplings would be planted at the airport and its suburbs.

On August 14, tree plantation ceremony at PIA Model Secondary School was jointly organized by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), PIA, and National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH). Cricketers Shoaib Muhammad, Moin Khan, and other distinguished guests from various walks of life attended the event and took part in the tree plantation activity at and in surroundings of PIA Model Secondary School.
PIA while actively contributing in the Clean and Green Pakistan initiative of the government is planting 50,000 trees in the current year alone across its different stations in the country.

Three thousand saplings donated by Society for Environment and Mangrove Protection Welfare Association (SEMPWA) to PIA for plantation at various PIA Installations in Karachi including Flight Kitchen, PIA Training Centre (PTC), Airport Hotel, Build Up Shop, Ispahani Wide-Body Aircraft Maintenance Hangar, Head Office, PIA Township Mosque, PIA Model School, etc.
