Yes, backtrack is possible on RWY18R for aircraft upto B777-300ER, though this depends on pilot's competence. I have noticed on many occasions Emirates' B77W's backtracking (180 turn) on RWY18R, yet also remember the occasion a Turkish Airlines A330 was backtracking but got stuck, and needed a tug to get it to the apron.AbdulAziz wrote:As previously other brothers said CAA should prepare 36L/18R also as second main rwy but during this closure I wonder if AC cross taxi way Charli is it possible for B777 - A333 to make 180 degree turn at end of 18R ??
Pilots prefer the taxi through Hajj Terminal ( taxiway Charlie, Echo) instead of backtracking with the limited space.
