Today, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate completed Phase-I of Quetta International Airport Terminal Building Renovation and Expansion project.

Today, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi inaugurated completed Phase-I of Quetta International Airport expansion project.

Project completed at a cost of two billion rupees will allow operation of Boeing 777 aircraft with full load at the airport.

Provision of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) facilities at Quetta International Airport through outsourced contractor


Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) invites proposals for functions mentioned below for Quetta International Airport. The contract will be awarded to the selected service provider for one year (extendable).

a) Provision of Operations & Maintenance services for airfield lighting system.
b) Provision of general Electrical & Mechanical services heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and electric power system including generators.
c) Provision of Operations & Maintenance services for baggage handling system.
d) Provision of operations & Maintenance services for aircraft stand equipment.
e) Provision of Operations & Maintenance services for general lighting etc. including buildings and roads.
f) Provision of Operations & Maintenance services for passenger conveying system.

How many Air Bridges Quetta Airport have !
There were news about 2 Glass door boarding bridges to be installed at UET but from Google Earth imagery only 1 is visible :-k

The two operational passenger boarding bridges photographed at Quetta International Airport on March 6, 2019.

PIA Airbus A320 (AP-BLD) had arrived as flight PK-325 from Islamabad. Serene Air Boeing 737-800 (AP-BNC) had arrived as flight ER-541 from Islamabad.

Serene Air Boeing 737-800 (AP-BND) and Air Arabia A320 at Quetta International Airport on April 1.

AP-BND had arrived as flight ER-540 from Karachi.
A6-AOC had arrived as flight GR-566 from Sharjah.

According to NOTAM issued by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Taxiway L will not be available from August 16 to September 15 due to rehabilitation work of ATR/F27 Apron at Quetta International Airport.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) is planning to underake the subject work to develop and upgrade facilities in order to provide modern and efficient services at Quetta International Airport.

The components of the works in the project shall consist of but not limited to the following:

Civil Works:
  • Dismantling and removal of existing concrete apron pavement.
  • Construction of Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) pavement for apron.
  • Asphaltic overlay on taxiway.
  • Storm water drain.
  • Pavement markings.
  • All associated works with the components mentioned above.
Electrical Works:
  • Dismantling of existing lattice tower and allied facilities.

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority intends to hire an event management firm for conducting inauguration arrangements of new international terminal building of Quetta Airport having expertise of arranged such events in the shortest possible time.

The deadline for the submission of proposal/bid is November 5, 2019.

According to NOTAM issued by Pakistan CAA.

From December 14, 2019, to March 13, 2020, Quetta Airport Taxiway L will not be available due to rehabilitation work on turboprop aircraft apron. The turboprop aircraft apron is being upgraded to serve jet aircraft.
