On following link is an interesting photo of Shaheen Air Boeing 737-4Q8 (AP-BJR) damaged at Sialkot Airport. Some tough tiles can be seen resting on Boeing's dented port side horizontal stabilizer. Apparently airport apron tough tiles lifted/disturbed by engine thrust hit the aircraft.
Actual date of incident not mentioned in photo caption.
Seems the incident went unnoticed in local news media.

A bizzare incident.........thank God there were no aircraft parked behind. Shaheen will get a hefty repair bill.
Few questions
a. Does interlocking brick apron an approved type of tarmac surface, I ve never seen this on any other airport anywhere.
b. I dont see any blast deflectors behind, Is it not a must for a high power run up.
c. why didn't the ground crew alert the cokpit on first sign of trouble?
Sheet stupity of all those involved.

That type of surface is common, even on major airports. Obviously unsuitable for full power engine testing though.
I have to admit that the picture with the bricks on top of the horizontal stabilizer is one of the very few recent news event out of pakistan that made me smile.

Abbas Bhai, whenever i track Shaheen fleets from my mobile app, i always see BJT and BJR flying for some time now. Probably they have fixed BJR long time ago.
