Where there is will there is a way. This has proven by the SIAL. There are two projects paralely going on with govt funds i.e. new islamabad airport and multan airport and nither of them are going to be complete In very near future. This PPP govt only knows how to get kickbacks and commision.

im assuming they will import the actual boarding bridges from Europe???

and those terminal a/c units should be hidden #-o and hopefully that beige-yellow paint job isnt the final look and they actually clad the terminal :-k

I just noticed that in the background there is one more bridge...is the bridge only on the other side not to occupy the apron or does that mean that they are planning ti expand the terminal building(I think the first option sounds more possible as at the moment there are only a few flight...so no reason for expansion at the moment)

I think those pillars/columns are temporarily painted in bright orange colour to prevent collision with vehicles in low visibility/foggy weather. Most likely, some sort of barriers will be made around the base of those pillars/columns and/or markings will be made on ground to prevent movement of vehicles near those columns/pillars.

I think the bridge in the background will be 'L-shaped' in case terminal building is not extended from the ground.

I'm hoping these air bridges have transparent glass covers such as the one in DXB.

I think the orange paint is a Red Oxide primer coat. Usually structural steel members are given a coat of this primer to prevent corrosion before giving it the actual paint coats.

Btw, is the airport terminal building getting three boarding bridges?

On NESPAK website found this master plan of Sialkot Airport that shows parking space for three widebody aircraft in front of the terminal building. It also shows plan to construct a parallel taxiway for Runway 04/22 in the future. Apparently for the time being aircraft have to backtrack on runway. Space reserved for future expansion of terminal building and apron is also shown.

Satellite image of Sialkot Airport shows bigger apron and car parking area than in that master plan.

3 Boarding Bridges would make sense as you already mentioned that the Bridge (which can be seen in Background) can be expected to be in L-Shape also with a third Bridge on the Left Side - That would mean in Total 3 Bridges.

Here's a photo taken by Aroosh Naqvi that shows a pair of passenger boarding bridges installed at Sialkot International Airport.

Good to see that progress - but seems to be that they first have to finsih construction on upper floor of the Terminal.
But anyway Iam impressed of the progress of SIAL especially as it is on private base
