its 737-800, not 787.

They can only fly domestic first year. And buying 3 787 is very expensive vs 3 737-800

Below is the update regarding Air Sial.

SIALKOT: Chairman Executive Board Air Sial Fazal Jillani has said that the project of Air Sial airline has met with great success and it is moving ahead successfully towards its goal of excellence.

He stated this while addressing a meeting of directors and investors of Air Sial held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Thursday.

Fazal Jillani hoped that Sialkot exporters’ airline “Air Sial” would be operational by the end of this year.

He said that as many as 35 leading Overseas Pakistanis investors were keen to invest in this mega project of Air Sial airline, as the management was actively considering their offers of investment, in this project.

He announced that Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had now registered “Air Sial Limited” company, which would be running the project of establishing Air Sial airline.

The meeting was told that a Sialkot based leading exporter Ameen Ehsan has been appointed as the CEO of Air Sial Limited, unanimously.

He said that the official logo of the “Air Sial” airlines would be unveiled soon.

The Sialkot exporters also showed keen interest in this mega project of Air Sial during the meeting. – APP

35 investors? There's going to be too much infighting.

I hope they chose a foreigner as a CEO to run the airline. Being investor is one thing and operating is another. Have a voice but not be in control of day to day affairs.

Also as airline grows, the investors will invest even more. with 35 people backing the airline (before it goes public), the airline can be really competitive to the likes or airblue/air indus.

Hopefully the airline uses a320s instead of b737. The reason I say this, some entrepruneur may see this as a good business, when all airlines are doing a320s, he can set up warehouse in pakistan for parts or repair areas so the airlines do not have to send the plane out of pakistan or wait weeks for parts to arrive.

Air Sial to start operations by year end

Post by pkjet »

Apart from the ambitious A380 and fantasy 727-800 plans,I sincerely hope that Air Sial really takes off...

SIALKOT: Air Sial, a new private airline being established under the supervision of Sialkot Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will take to skies by the year-end.

Fazal Jilani, patron-in-chief of Air Sial and President of SCCI, made the announcement during a meeting at the SCCI Auditorium yesterday.

Air Sial management, he said, has formally started the registration of its directors.

“We are hopeful that Air Sial will be able to begin its operations by the end of current year after the completion of registration process. The airline’s official logo will be unveiled soon,” he told SAMAA.

“We had been deliberating to launch our own airline for a long time as Sialkot’s business community frequently travels abroad and domestically,” he said.

“Keeping this in mind, we decided to bring an airline which could provide better travel facilities to exporters as well as other passengers.

“Air Sial will offer five star services at an affordable price,” he said.

He said that Air Sial management was mulling over a proposal to buy Boeing 727-800 aircraft for its domestic and international flight operations.

Jilani hailed the project another landmark achievement of Sialkot’s exporters.

Jailani further said Sialkot’s business community had already completed different mega projects, including international airport, dry port and all main inter-city roads under the city development package, on the self-help basis.

The initiative was lauded by people on social media forums.

On Facebook, people applauded Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry for working on the mega project on their own.
