Visit of the President of
Pakistan Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari to PIA Precision Engineering
Complex (PEC) at Karachi Airport on January 6, 1994. Managing
Director PIA Air Vice Marshal Farooq Umar and Director PEC Air
Vice Marshal Sardar Khan also seen in the
picture. PEC's function was first to manufacture and overhaul
miscellaneous aircraft items for PIA, but it has grown into an
enterprise which now performs manufacturing subcontracts for
customers which include Boeing, General Electric, Airbus,
Hispano Suiza, Saab and Snecma. The components produced are
relatively basic, but, for example, they include undercarriage
webs and wing components for Boeing and oil seals for Snecma -
flight-critical items produced to the most demanding
specifications |
