PK 688 Diverted to Sukkur

Due to bad weather in Quetta PK 688 has been diverted to Sukkur.

Aircraft ATR 42 AP-BHI ..

All the passengers has been shifted to Departure lounge.
As per captain announcement decision will b taken after observing weather in Quetta. Flight route was KHI-UET-PZH-DSK-ISB

Departed at 12:40pm from Karachi

All passengers for Quetta has been provided an alternate flight tomorrow at 7:30pm in PK 352 (Aircraft Boeing 737-800) Corendon Air Wet lease to PIA.

so how were the passengers accomodated by PIA ?

Were they shifted to hotels, etc?

Yes, PK 688 Passengers has been accommodated by PIA in Hotels, But the Ground services in Karachi Airport were not satisfied.

On Ground Passengers handling services ( Special handling services ) were not updated, I was the first passenger to approach to the counter to ask about the next alternate flight but the staff was unaware about flight PK 688 they asked me to go upstairs and contact with special handling counter & ask them to release the PNR / Bookings of PK 688 so they can be offered an alternate flight, after doing that i again come downstairs and then updated my ticket for my next flight which takes almost more than an hour.

Next day when we landed at Quetta Airport the same case i observed regarding ground services (luggage), the belt was not working & they were handling the luggage terribly.

PK 352 ( Boeing 737-800 ) & PK 688 ATR 42 in flight services were satisfied.

PIA ATR 42-500 registration AP-BHI flight PK-688 from Karachi to Islamabad via Quetta, Zhob & Dera Ismail Khan diverted to Begum Nusrat Bhutto Airport - Sukkur after departure from Karachi due to bad weather in Quetta on February 6, 2015.

Eventually, the turboprop aircraft had to return to Karachi.

M.Tayyab Actually Before Boarding into Aircraft, Passengers has been restricted to take luggage inside due to luggage size, they take the luggage from passengers & put it into cargo area. After arrival at JIAP so they are returning the luggage which they had collected.
