Thanks for the info Sir, its really great to know that fleet size is being increased & so far i think PIA will be able to resume its services on other International Routes by using these wide body aircraft s.
On other hand PIA almost balanced its schedule nation wide after induction of A320 & 737-800 & so far with my observation almost all flights are on time & no any frequent delays are being observed.
All is Good, Hope for the best ... & best of luck to PIA

Probably Airbus A330-200 also to be offered by some bidders and will PIA consider it to replace Airbus A310-300 in airline's fleet?

Hmm. So another tender for narrowbodies. This time they are asking for four of these. Probably PIA is not interested in getting A320s from Air Asia that were accepted in the previous bidding, possibly due to expected public concerns about the condition of Air Asia fleet after the latest A320 incident. And six A320s from IAM are probably finalized?

Re: PIA to Dry Lease 4 Narrow-body & 3 Wide-body Aircraft
With an extra four narrow bodies probably more A320s that means that by end of 2015 PIA should have around 13 A320s in its fleet.
Three in service, six former Czech aircraft, and four more in this tender taking the A320 fleet to 13.
Plus the three wide body aircraft probaby A330-200s will increase the fleet to a decent level but still no where near the 2008 level.
I wonder if the remaining 5-6 A310s will be phased out by end of 2015.

There are a number of post 2005 build A330s stored by Libyan and Afriqiyah Airways.
However, it is an unknown as to whether the airlines would be interested in long term leases.
Shouldn't be an issue finding the narrow-bodies.

The ban is in place because Libya has little or no functioning CAA due to the civil war, not because the aircraft are unairworthy.umar744 wrote:EU ban Libya Aircraft without certificate that why PIA cannot get from Libya but yes get from any other countries without EU Ban
Some of the stored aircraft I mentioned have never carried passengers.
If they're put on the Pakistani CAA register, there is no reason they can't fly for PIA.

Re: PIA to Dry Lease 4 Narrow-body & 3 Wide-body Aircraft
the problem is simply that it takes too damn long to lease planes in PIA.
Losses keep mounting, routes keep closing, no new long-haul planes in foresight, and there seems no plan to do anything quickly.
I'm amazed they were able to induct a couple of A320's. Tenders keep getting cancelled, or modified, or changed, etc.

Re: PIA to Dry Lease 4 Narrow-body & 3 Wide-body Aircraft
20 days gone, I think nothing coming out of it.
They post this in January and ask for planes in July, that is the problem. Airlines can't give away airplanes that fast, considering it takes time for them to find out that PIA has an ad in place. Also oil prices fell so A330 is quite profitable and they can continue to run routes with medium loads. They ask for A320s in December, so we might get some A320s. But again, low oil price means airlines will try to extract more profit from these before selling them.
They need to give at least a year so more companies can participate. I saw on forums on how many tenders they give every 6 months (because they can't get good deal) and then they have 6 months deadline (and many don't have ready or can deliver fast. Look at ATR, deadline was March 31 and they will only get one this month, with rest to arrive later).
So make new tender with at least 1 year deadline and 6 months for submission.

There are 3 ex-TAM A330-200 in storage fitted with either PW or GE engines.
