For Construction & Operation of Cargo Village at Jinnah International Air Port (JIAP) - Karachi

Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, is the largest and busiest airport of Pakistan. With current cargo movement of 160,124 metric ton/year coupled with decent growth need for world class cargo village is inevitable. Existing condition of cargo terminal and plan for new cargo village create opportunity for renowned and reputable companies to Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) modality.

Cargo Village shall provide facilities and infrastructure including bounded areas and customs offices, warehouses, domestic cargo terminal, light industrial area, cold storages, services for airlines and freight forwarders, business centre, food court, canteen, banks, automated teller machine (ATM), prayer area, conference rooms and ample parking area.

Pre-qualification of bidders to design, build, operate & transfer Cargo Village project at Jinnah International Air Port (JIAP) - Karachi

Jinnah International Air Port (JIAP) - Karachi is Pakistan's largest international & domestic airport with respect to commercial aircraft movements, passengers and cargo.

JIAP - Karachi contributes to around 50% of the total air cargo from Pakistan. Cargo movement during CY2014 was 160,124 metric tons. CAA plans to revamp the cargo facilities and operations at JIAP by building a new Cargo Village. The complex is expected to provide additional space and improved infrastructure and facilities, which may be expanded on the basis of an approved master plan.

The project is envisaged to be developed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) modality by award of a 30 year concession to a private developer and operator. The concessionaire shall be responsible to design, build and operate the facility, which shall be transferred to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) upon expiry of the concession period.
