the reason for painting the tail may be not to create confusion with air indus b737-400 also leased from jordan aviation.pia might be also be planning to keep it for a longer time than the 3 months. shaheen did the same with the b762 and air indus is doing- all leased from jordan aviation.

JY-JAT re-appeared on flightradar24.com today after absence of some days.

The A320 departed from Karachi at 2:45 PM.

Probably returned to lessor Jordan Aviation?

JY-JAT was acquired on wet lease under this bidding invitation that appeared in May 6, 2014, newspaper. Lease period was one month (extendable).

That means one less aircraft in PIA's fleet again. They should've kept renewing the wet-lease or made it long-term, keep the aircraft for domestic routes. Returning back aircraft means another shortage of fleet.

And the main question, when are more widebodies coming ??

Depends on the aircraft and the hours you want to fly in a month .... the approx cost for this lease from Jordan aviation was $400,000 per month however Shaheen air got a 767 from the same lesser last year at the same pruce with much highet seat capacity.

JY-JAT was acquired on wet lease under following rate:

34.95 US Dollars Per Block Hour Per Seat.

Probably it was configured to carry 180 passengers in single-class layout which means 6,291 US dollars (34.95 x 180 = 6291) per block hour. Block hours calculated from aircraft off-block time at origin to aircraft on-block time at destination.

I think minimum guaranteed block hours were two hundred seventy-five (275) per month for JY-JAT by PIA and that means Jordan Aviation was guaranteed to receive at least 1,730,025 US dollars (6291 x 275 = 1730025) per month for the A320 from PIA.

Paying 1.73 million dollars per month for a 180 seat A320 would be mean around $20 million dollars per years.

Why not dry lease the aircraft at much lower price???

How much is PIA paying for the four wet leased Turkish aircraft per month??

Four 189-seater Boeing 737-800s of Corendon Airlines acquired on wet lease under following rate:

27.80 US Dollars Per Block Hour Per Seat

189 x 27.80 = 5,254 US Dollars per block hour

Minimum guaranteed block hours are two hundred seventy five (275) per aircraft per month.

5254 x 275 = 1,444,850 US Dollars per aircraft per month for 275 guaranteed block hours.
