BA to serve destinations beyond Doha using Qatar Airways
Published: 07/04/2014
Qatar Airways' membership of Oneworld is at last yielding fruit.
Effective immediately, fellow alliance member British Airways will begin using Qatar Airways to serve destinations that it cannot economically serve itself.
At the same time, Qatar Airways will take advantage of BA's domestic and short-haul European network to cover cities which it has no immediate plans to serve directly from Doha.
What BA and Qatar Airways are doing is similar in scope to what Oneworld member Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways are offering over Doha.
Details have just emerged on airlineroute.net that BA will from tomorrow offer flights via Doha to destinations in East Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh using Qatar Airways beyond the Gulf.
Qatar Airways flights will codeshare on BA flights out of Heathrow to UK domestic cities, with the exception of Edinburgh which will be served non-stop from Doha in May, along with Amsterdam and Hamburg. Others may follow.
Flights can be booked on the respective airline websites.

if the connection times are minimum then one travelling with family can benefit from, otherwise its a total waste of time to travel to DOH in 3~4 hours + connection time at DOH and then fly onward to UK, the journey will be more than 10 hours and going directly most probably it is around 7~8 hours
in my opinion, good for those who want to enjoy their travel, inflight, etc.

These airlines may manage to attract passengers by offering low fares combined with quality service, punctuality and more flights frequencies.

This will be good though since QR joined OW, you were able to book through BA.com as an alliance member, so this is not new. As for QR, until the long delayed Hammad International Airport doesnt open, the current terminal at DOH is a mess. Rumour now is that it will open for limited operations on the 20th of April and QR will move there in June. Lets see.

Re: British Airways to Use Qatar Airways to Serve Pakistan
I had a quick look at the schedules on the BA website and I am not impressed. Example London to Islamabad below:
Outbound - Thursday 15 May 2014 Connection time nearly 24 hours in Doha
Inbound - Wednesday 21 May 2014 Connection time of 18 hours in Doha
Similar applies to Lahore. Not Wonderful yet!
